Freefolk & FilmLight to host color pipeline event in NYC

NEW YORK CITY — FilmLight is teaming up with Freefolk to host a ‘Meet the Colorist’ event in New York City on Thursday, October 18th at 1pm. The event will offer live presentations and practical discussions on look development, color space management and new grading tools - from on-set to finishing.

Freefolk director of color Paul Harrison will discusses his individual journey in color, as well as creative tips he’s honed over his career in London and more recently in New York City.

Daniele Siragusano, image engineer at FilmLight, will also discuss the basics of color management, including how to approach producing and finishing projects in a device-independent way. Siragusano will explain the fundamentals of a color management pipeline, from the scene in front of the camera, all the way to the light emitted by a display. Additional topics, such as the potential and pitfalls of HDR finishing, and how to set up a grading pipeline to deliver both HDR and SDR, will also be discussed.

Freefolk is located at 520 Broadway (9th floor). The event is free to attend, but requires registration.
