LONDON — Darren Woolfson has joined Molinare (www.molinare.co.uk) as director of technology & visual services. The new role is designed to better position and support technology across the business and drive the studio’s strategy in visual services to support an ambitious growth plan.
Woolfson has enjoyed a successful career in the film and television industry as a technical expert for 30 years. He started his career at Complete Video and later joined Molinare, where, as technical director, he played a key role in the management buyout of the business in 2003. He was also instrumental in ensuring that the then struggling post company once again became a highly successful TV & film post production facility.
In 2007 Woolfson left Molinare to join the senior management team at Pinewood Studios as director of technology. During that time he managed and oversaw all aspects of technology associated with feature film, TV and games production and post production. He also ran the group’s picture services division in the UK and across its international studios.
“I’m really looking forward to joining Molinare, even under the very challenging global conditions right now,” says Woolfson. “Technology will be one of the key drivers to the recovery of our industry and I am excited to be working with the team at Molinare to deliver this and other key strategies to help drive the business’s continued growth.”
