Scanline VFX grows European presence

LONDON – Scanline VFX (scanlinevfx.com) continues to expand its European presence with the recent appointment of Lauren McCallum as head of production, Europe, and the promotion of Jasmin Hasel to executive producer, Europe. Scanline currently has three physical European studios in Munich, Stuttgart and London, as well as a growing number of artists working remotely across Europe. In March of this year, all Scanline studios transitioned to remote working, adopting a global, decentralized production workflow.

Together, McCallum and Hasel are focused on Scanline’s continued growth in the European market, managing over 130 artists on recently-released titles such as 6 Underground, Charlie’s Angels, Stranger Things and Game of Thrones. Projects currently in production include Marvel’s Eternals, Netflix’s Transatlantic 473, Black Out and The Batman.

Lauren McCallum brings 15 years of experience to her latest role at Scanline. As head of production, Europe, she is responsible for project delivery, ensuring Scanline’s European teams are integrated with the company’s global network, along with talent development and mentoring the next generation of leaders in the business. Prior to joining Scanline, she was head of production at MPC’s London and Montreal studios. Following almost five years at MPC, McCallum took on the role of managing director at Mill Film, where she built a team of 800 in 18 months, launched studios in Montreal and Adelaide concurrently and delivered seven projects as executive producer.

Jasmin Hasel has been with Scanline since 2008, starting as a visual effects producer. She played an instrumental role in the development and expansion of Scanline’s European studios, helping to open the company’s Stuttgart location in 2015, followed by the London studio in 2019.

In her latest role, Hasel is responsible for the overall management of all Scanline’s European locations, overseeing production teams and workflows from the beginning of a project through delivery, alongside building and maintaining client relationships. She has over 70 credits to her name, including Stranger Things, Bumblebee, The Meg and Season 8 of Game of Thrones.
