Senior colorist Paul Ensby returns to Technicolor

LONDON — Senior colorist Paul Ensby is returning to Technicolor’s London facility. He is a third generation Technicolor (www.technicolor.com) employee, as his grandfather and father both worked in the London studio’s film laboratory.

Ensby got his start with the company as a 35mm trainee feature grader before becoming a fully-fledged grader, where he worked with directors such as Ridley Scott, Jane Campion, Ken Russell, Neil Jordan, Bill Forsyth and Stephen Frears.

“Technicolor has always been home to me,” says Ensby. “They have and will continue to be a standard of excellence and I’m happy to be starting the next chapter in my career with Sherri (Potter, worldwide president of Technicolor Post Production) and the team.”

Ensby recently reunited with his longtime friend, director Asif Kapadia, on the HBO documentary Diego Maradona. He had previously worked on Asif’s Oscar-winning documentary Amy, and the BAFTA-winning documentary Senna. Paul also recently finished grading the mini series Quiz for ITV and Left Bank Pictures, directed by Stephen Frears.
