Escape Studios announces Virtual Work Experience program

LONDON — Escape Studios, part of Pearson College London (pearsoncollegelondon.ac.uk), has announced the launch of their new ‘Virtual Work Experience’ program, which is set to take place July 7th & 8th. Aimed at students aged 16 to 18, the online program is designed to introduce young people to the extensive range of careers available within the creative industries.

The free, two-day event will be delivered in collaboration with experts from Vine FX, Industrial Light & Magic, One of Us and Hexworks. Throughout the event, guest speakers will be setting activities and challenges, as well as sharing their own experiences of breaking into the industry.

“The pandemic has accelerated some dynamic changes within the creative industries and the demand for experienced talent is becoming more paramount,” explains Ian Palmer, dean of Escape Studios. “This is why our program is designed to help under 18s get their foot in the door by building their understanding of the industry and introducing them to professional networks.”

The event will consist of workshop-style sessions taking place each day. Attendees will get the opportunity to partake in sessions on topics that include “Understanding VFX, animation and games”, “Insight into career pathways”, “Routes into the creative industries”, “Securing your first job” and “Succeeding in the industry”.

Within the sessions, attendees will also get the chance to network with guest speakers, take part in a business challenge and receive a digital badge after completion of the program.

“Escape Studios’ Virtual Work Experience program is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn about the creative industries,” notes event speaker, Andrew Brassington. “The exciting line-up of educational sessions will certainly help them make key decisions about their futures as well as equip them with key skills they need to succeed”
