Uppercut makes appointments, announces West Coast expansion

NEW YORK CITY — Editorial, finishing and VFX studio Uppercut (uppercutedit.com) has promoted Lisa Sadek to head of production at its New York office. In addition, the studio has hired Jared Thomas, who will serve as head of production for the company’s new Los Angeles outpost. Uppercut has seen considerable expansion since 2020, including a new office in Atlanta. They are increasing their presence with an LA-based team and an official office, set to launch in 2022.

Sadek is a New Jersey native whose career began as a senior coordinator at Cablevision, before moving to associate producer at Prodigious (now Harbor), and then producer at Jump Editorial. She joined the Uppercut team as a producer in 2018, and has since worked on projects for international brands that include Ford, Johnson & Johnson, Lexus, Nike and Volvo, among others. 
 
Thomas spent 13 years in San Francisco, where worked at studios that include Filmcore and Beast. His career continued in Los Angeles at Rock Paper Scissors, as a freelance producer, and on staff at Cut + Run, before making the move to Uppercut. His worked includes collaborations with brands like Apple, Amazon, Nike, Audi, Budweiser, and Pepsi.
