He spent 11 years establishing a premiere film and commercial beauty studio in New York and Chennai, where he supervised finishing on projects for Prada, Chloe, Gucci, Estee Lauder, Maybelline, Pat McGrath, David Yurman, Harry Winston, Tom Ford and many others. He also led teams of artists that worked on projects for major studios, including HBO, Warner Bros. and MGM.

Alan Balian will serve as Assembly’s new executive producer of beauty and luxury. He has worked at the forefront of fashion, beauty and luxury goods content creation for two decades, including eight years at Gloss Studios. Balain’s credits include work with brands such as Prada, Chloe, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Gucci.

Together at Assembly, the team has already developed work for beauty brands such as Pat McGrath, Harry Winston and Zeghani Jewelry, in addition to films featuring Naomi Campbell, Nicola Coughlan, Halle Berry and Jennifer Lawrence.

“When we started Assembly a year ago, we knew beauty and luxury brands would be a key component of our success, so we're thrilled to have the team of Josh and Alan onboard to spearhead this division which is already doing an impressive array of work with an unbeatable roster of clients,” explains Assembly managing director Colin Moneymaker. “I'm really looking forward to growing our capabilities in service of the luxury brand market, and seeing what campaigns Josh and Alan bring through the Assembly doors.”
