VANCOUVER, BC — Metastage Canada, set to launch this Spring, will be a 4D holographic capture facility, and will be designated as the exclusive Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture Studio in Vancouver, British Columbia. The announcment comes from Departure Lounge Inc., which develops a range of metaverse-focused technology and content opportunities, and Metastage, the Los Angeles-based developer of volumetric capture technology.
Using Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture Studios technology, Metastage’s (metastage.com) volumetric/holographic capture process uses 106 12MP machine-vision cameras to capture dynamic human performances. These rapidly generated photoreal, volumetric digital models can be used in games, immersive experiences and traditional media. Metastage produces exceptionally high-quality holograms that reduce the amount of clean up or post processing required with other systems.
Departure Lounge will operate Metastage Canada as part of a comprehensive set of technologies designed to transfer humans and objects into and out of the metaverse.

Metastage Canada will be housed at the Departure Lounge facility in the heart of the Centre for Digital Media (https://thecdm.ca) district in downtown Vancouver.
