LOS ANGELES — Alkemy X (www.alkemy-x.com) recently brought Nico Van den Bosch onboard as head of pipeline across all of its offices. The studio, which specializes in visual effects, production, editorial, design and creative development, has locations in New York, Burbank, Philadelphia and Amsterdam.
Van den Bosch comes to Alkemy X with over 20 years of experience in visual effects and 3D animation. He has worked on feature films and commercials, combining his engineering and computer science background with a passion for creative problem solving and developing VFX pipeline strategies that focus on efficient workflows.
As an artist and supervisor, Van den Bosch’s credits include The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe; Daredevil; Red Riding Hood; Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief; and Happy Feet. He launched his career at Rhythm & Hues, where he spent 13 years, working his way up from a junior pipeline role to eventually become the lead pipeline technical director, and later, digital effects supervisor. He has also worked as a supervising technical director at Dreamworks Animation, and most recently was head of pipeline at a boutique shop for the last four years.
