MPC introduces new heads of studio for Montreal and London

LONDON — VFX company MPC (www.mpcvfx.com) has added new leadership with the recent hiring of Ludovic Iochem and Sal Umerji, who will serve as heads of studio for Montreal and London respectively.

Iochem has over 20 years of experience in the VFX industry and extensive expertise in production operations. He started his career in visual effects in Paris, where he worked for numerous French film studios as a VFX artist before moving to London. Some of his credits include working as a DMP artist, and later environment supervisor, on projects such as 10,000BC and Quantum of Solace. He went on to accept the role of head of environments at Framestore Montreal in 2016. Prior to joining MPC, Iochem was head of CG at Dneg London and Montreal. Additional film credits include Blade Runner 2049, The Bourne Ultimatum, Dredd and Avengers: Endgame.   

Sal Umerji comes on board as head of studio, MPC London, after spending six years at sister company, The Mill. He spent three years as general manager of The Mill’s Bangalore, India studio before returning to London to support the company’s business as global operations lead. He began his career in VFX in 2000, joining MPC as a runner, working his way up the ladder to VFX producer. Umerji has over 20 years of experience in the industry, with credits that include Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The King’s Speech, Moon and The Infiltrator.
