Amazon's Invincible is an adult animated superhero series that centers on 17-year-old Mark Grayson. Unlike other kids his age, Mark the son of the planet's most powerful superhero - Omni-Man. As he develops his own powers, Mark discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems. The voice cast for the series includes Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh and J.K. Simmons. The show debuted in 2021 and has released three seasons to date.
Lindsey Myers is an animatic editor on Invincible, having come on-board for Seasons 2 and 3, and is currently working on the upcoming Season 4.
"Our editing workflow is based entirely in Adobe," says Myers, "using Premiere for all editorial. We also have a robust collection of proprietary tools, built using the Adobe API options that support our workflow with automation. This has really been a game changer for how we track and handle our footage, freeing up more time and energy to focus on the creative side of the work."
Myers points to Episode 307 as a favorite animatic scene to cut - Rex Splode's death.
"He was already a favorite and I think that scene was the perfect culmination of his character arc. I admit, I did get a little teary eyed cutting that one, which has never happened to me before. The final product was truly a team effort across editorial and VFX."
