LOS ANGELES - Evan and Gregg Spiridellis have launched Spiridellis Bros. Studios, Inc. (spiribros.com), an animation studio that will use AI tools to create original films, television, digital shorts, games and toys. The company has secured funding from numerous investors, including Polaris Founders Capital, Caruso Ventures, Google’s AI Futures Fund, Ashton Kutcher, Guy Oseary, Chris and Crystal Sacca, Tim Ferriss and Katie Stanton.
The Spiridellis spent their careers at the intersection of technology and entertainment. They pioneered viral video in the dial-up internet days with JibJab, produced personalized entertainment with ElfYourself in the social media era, and created StoryBots, the 11-time Emmy Award–winning children’s franchise that originated on YouTube and was later acquired by Netflix.
By integrating AI into every stage of their creative and production pipelines, Spiridellis Bros. Studios will deliver bold new entertainment experiences while hoping to out-innovate legacy studios constrained by traditional production models. The studio is assembling its first slate of projects, with releases scheduled for early 2026.
“For the past 25 years, Evan and I have ridden every major technology wave,” says Gregg Spiridellis, co-founder of Spiridellis Bros. Studios. “AI isn’t just another wave; it’s a tsunami that will transform the way entertainment is created, produced, and distributed, and we couldn’t be more excited to build what comes next.”
While many studios view AI as simply a cost-cutting shortcut, the brothers see AI as a new creative canvas. They believe, as with past breakthroughs, that those who embrace it will expand the possibilities of artistic expression.
“Every leap in technology has expanded the artist’s toolkit, and this is no different,” adds Evan Spiridellis, co-founder of Spiridellis Bros. Studios. “It’s not about what AI can do today, but the limitless doors it will open for artists who embrace the creative possibilities."
