AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND - Fathom (www.fathomvfx.com) is a new visual effects facility that recently opened its doors in Kingsland. Damon Duncan and Rhys Dippie launched the company, which is home to three suites that can handle editing, color and online work. The facility also features breakout space and production areas. Its team has a combined 50 years of experience in the New Zealand production & post industry.
Duncan and Dippie are joined by Richard Betts, who serves as head of 2D.
“We have been friends with Richard forever, and having him join our team has been amazing," says Duncan. "We can’t wait to get stuck into some tricky creative and technological challenges with him.”
Fathom recently completed a series of long-form projects, serving as the primary VFX vendor for Disney's Zombies 4, and crafting a 3D car chase sequence for M3gan 2.0. Additionally, the team worked on a Christmas spot titled Humbug for MOFA and Myers.
