LOS ANGELES - The Trusted Partner Network (www.ttpn.org), which spent the past three years raising awareness about the need for content security, is taking its mission a step further with the introducing of the Stella Security Award - an honor designed to recognize service providers that achieve the highest level of content security compliance under the organization’s next-generation Shield structure.
The next-gen Shield structure was launched back in September and is designed to address the continued rise of security incidents, as well as the need to strengthen content security by clearly distinguishing between levels of preparedness. It also gives service providers a visible pathway toward full compliance with the Motion Picture Association’s Content Security Best Practices and Additional Recommendations. The Trusted Partner Network is owned and managed by the Motion Picture Association. The Stella Security Award takes that effort one step further by publicly recognizing those organizations that have fully closed all remediation items and demonstrated a sustained, organization-wide commitment to security excellence.
Stella, which is Latin for “star,” represents “stellar” performance. By giving the highest level of achievement a physical symbol that recipients can proudly display, TPN aims to make security excellence more visible and aspirational, both within service provider organizations and among the content owners evaluating them.
“Security done well, and the teams dedicated to content security, are often invisible, which means the organizations investing the most effort rarely get recognized,” explains TPN president Terri Davies. “The Stella Award is about changing that dynamic. It acknowledges the service providers that have achieved full compliance and have built a culture of continuous improvement around content protection. By celebrating those achievements, we’re encouraging others to follow the same path.”
TPN sees the Stella Security Award as a catalyst for broader change across the industry. By clearly defining what best-in-class security looks like and celebrating those who achieve it, the organization aims to create momentum that drives higher standards throughout the global supply chain, ultimately encouraging more service providers to close gaps, strengthen defenses and move toward full compliance. It also gives award recipients a meaningful way to differentiate themselves from similar service providers.
DigiKore Studios, Google Workspace, HumTum VFX and Mist VFX are the inaugural Stella Security Award recipients. Qualifying organizations receive a physical award for display at industry events, along with recognition across TPN channels. The Stella Security Award will be presented throughout the year to additional service providers that achieve the TPN Gold Star Shield.
