Tonic's A.J. Gundell and Peter Fish.
NEW YORK - Principal/composer Peter Fish and composer/executive music producer Andy (A.J.) Gundell of music/post house Tonic (www.tonic.tv) in New York City each recently took home an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series. The team was recognized for its work on ABC's "All My Children," a show that they've been contributing to for a number of years. Both Fish and Gundell have won three awards each in this category over the last five years.
As a composing team, Fish and Gundell were responsible for the entire original score in the episode submitted to the Academy.
"I've been a winner and a loser. Winning is definitely more fun," says Gundell, for whom this is his 11th Emmy. "Peter and I really complement each other when we score these shows. It's great to share this with him, as well as the other talented composers and music directors on the 'All My Children' team."
Gundell and Fish are also collaborating on Tonic's latest venture, the recently released Tonic Song Library (www.tonicsonglibrary.com), a collection of licensable songs for visual media. Fish recently collaborated with Fred Weinberg of Fred Weinberg Music and Sounds on the score for "Ballet," launching the Wynn Las Vegas resort and casino.
