MIXOPOLIS MIXES EMMY-NOMINATED ESPN2 DOC

NEW YORK – Audio post house Mixopolis (www.mixopolis.com) worked on a documentary for ESPN2 last year that is now being recognized with Emmy nominations. Rhythm In The Rope details the impact jump-rope competitions have on inner-city children and follows teams from Brooklyn, Far Rockaway, South Carolina and Japan as they prepare for the Double Dutch Holiday Classic at the Apollo Theatre in New York City.

Mixopolis mixer/sound designer James Twomey worked on the 60-minute project, which was produced and directed by Johnson McKelvy and edited by Philip Parrish. Samson Chan served as director of photography. Brian Keane created the original score.

Rhythm In The Rope is nominated for two Emmys in the categories of “Outstanding Sports Documentary” and  “Outstanding Music Composition/Direction/Lyrics.”

Twomey sweetened and mixed the program’s soundtrack in Mixopolis’ Studio 2 using a Digidesign Pro Tools|HD system and a Yamaha DM2000 console. The project was laid back to Sony Digi Beta.
