BLAZING MUSIC COMPLETES FIRST SEASON OF 'NUESTRO BARRIO'

RALEIGH, NC – Blazing Music + Sound, located at Trailblazer Studios in Raleigh (www.trailblazerstudios.com), recently completed custom music, sound design and audio post for season one of the 30-minute Spanish-language soap opera Nuestro Barrio. The show entertains and educates newly immigrated Hispanic viewers on life in a typical US city. Produced by The Community Reinvestment Association of North Carolina (CRA-NC), Nuestro Barrio is shot in Durham, NC.

Blazing Music + Sound collaborated on the show’s custom music with composers/musicians Misael Gariga and Pepe Ojeda. Audio post was performed by Blazing’s Willie Elias and freelance engineer Juan Belgodere, using multiple Digidesign Pro Tools workstations.

“The show’s music reflects what it’s like to be Latino and living in the United States,” explains Dilsey Davis, Nuestro Barrio’s creator and director. “We meld contemporary salsa and meringue with more traditional mariachi style music, and of course, musical themes from the US, creating a bi-cultural experience.”

While Blazing focused on the show’s audio elements, its sister boutique, Serious Robots, provided picture editorial support. Editor Ian Krabacher handled final conform and color correction for the series, while the Serious Robots animation team created the show’s open and bumpers.

The 13-episode show (www.nuestrobarrio.tv) debuted in January on English-language TV stations in North and Sound Carolina, and will begin airing this summer in markets throughout the Southeast and Southwest.
