NEWTEK SHOWS LIGHTWAVE 9.3, BUNDLES APP WITH SPEEDEDIT NLE

SAN DIEGO - NewTek is at SIGGRAPH with LightWave V.9.3 and LightWave Rendition for Adobe Photoshop. The new version of LightWave adds a broad range of features, as well as improved workflows for faster and more efficient production at all levels.

LightWave Rendition for Adobe Photoshop provides photorealistic 3D render output. The tool gives artists the ability to render models imported through Photoshop CS3 Extended and deliver the richness of detail, textures and lighting attributes found in the original 3D object format, all within the Photoshop Extended environment.

Rendition for Adobe Photoshop will ship with its own 3D model art library and works with models from other sources, such as Google SketchUp's 3D Warehouse or any of the following 3D interchange formats: 3DS, OBJ, U3D, KMZ, and Collada.

NewTek is also showing 3D Arsenal, a collection of software content and training that makes creating 3D motion graphics quick and easy. The system is based on NewTek's 3D animation, modeling and rendering technology, and provides high quality output. 3D Arsenal combines a large selection of royalty-free, pre-made content, an hour of video training and a new streamlined 3D workflow to deliver an application that pros familiar with nonlinear editor can get up to speed with quickly. The tool outputs multiple file formats making it compatible with Mac and PC-based NLEs.

SpeedEdit, NewTek’s low-cost, resolution independent NLE is being shown at SIGGRAPH, as is the company’s TriCaster Studio, which provides all of the capabilities of a live remote production truck in a 16lb, low-impact footprint. TriCaster Studio makes it possible to cover live events and broadcast or stream from locations where the use of remote truck facilities are not feasible.

And, for a limited time, NewTek is bundling LightWave 3D and SpeedEdit, offering a savings of nearly $500. LightWave V.9 with SpeedEdit is available through October 31st for $895. Registered users of LightWave 3D V.8 or earlier can purchase an upgrade to V.9 for $395 and get SpeedEdit for free.
