HOLLYWOOD — Light Iron (www.lightiron.com), which is part of the Panavision family of companies, has expanded its episodic division with the recent addition of colorist Jeremy Sawyer (pictured), along with new infrastructure dedicated to television services. Sawyer is a colorist with an extensive track record in broadcast content. His color credits include The Walking Dead, The Closer, South Park, Major Crimes, Limitless, and
The facility additions include a second TV bay, a new online room, and a dailies department for in-house, overnight dailies at Light Iron’s Los Angeles facility. The company is planning a similar expansion at its New York facility in early 2016. In both cases, new hardware has been added specifically for television workflow, such as UHD and HDR monitors and dedicated SAN storage.
According to Light Iron president Michael Cioni, the expansion recognizes the specific needs of television clients. “We’ve never believed in a one-size fits all approach to post,” says Cioni. “Episodic content moves at a different pace and duration than features, and this expansion allows us to support our television clients as equally as we support our theatrical clients.”
He continues, “Jeremy is an excellent fit with our talent roster. He enjoys building relationships with clients and colleagues, which enables him to finesse the best creative choices for each project.”
Sawyer’s upcoming projects at Light Iron include Season 6 of The Walking Dead (AMC), Season 1 of
Live to Tell (History Channel), and Season 1 of
Greenleaf (OWN). Light Iron plans to announce additional hires for the episodic division in the near future.
