SAN RAFAEL, CA — Autodesk is teaming up with HP, AMD and Xsens to host 3December 2011 (http://area.autodesk.com/3dec) from December 5 to 8. The virtual celebration of 3D computer graphics provides 3D artists with the opportunity to participate in live streamed events, watch free master classes, view Autodesk tutorials, and connect with fellow artists from around the world.
Live 3December celebrations will also take place in Toronto on December 7 and in Montreal and Tokyo on December 8. The Montreal event will feature presentations by artists who will highlight the use of certain Autodesk tools. Modux FX will explain how scenes from the feature films Source Code and Immortals were created, and artists from Motor VFX will present how Autodesk 3DS Max, together with Softimage and Flame Premium, were used to create and finish commercials shot entirely on blue screen. Other presenters include Digital Dimension/Meduzarts.
During the event, Autodesk will announce the recipients of the peer-nominated Autodesk Masters Award, as well as the first-ever Autodesk Junior Master Award. The live event will be followed by an Electronic Theatre presentation from the Montreal ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter.
