Assimilate offering free trial of Scratch, hosting contest

SANTA CLARA, CA — Assimilate is offering a free trial of its Scratch workflow and DI solution. Scratch is designed to work as a realtime tool for client-attended sessions. It offers a consistent and integrated UI that allows artists to work on production dailies, conforms, creative DI and finishing.

The free trial has no time-out and is fully functional, though it does carry a watermark and doesn’t allow the artist to render. Visit the Assimilate Website (www.assimimateinc.com) for more details.

In related news, Assimilate is also hosting a photo contest in which participants have an opportunity to win an Apple iPad 2 that’s been autographed by Steve Wozniak, courtesy of FusionIO. TO enter, “like” Assimilate’s Facebook page. Then submit creative photo that includes the company’s  Scratch or Scratch Lab product.  Participants can enter up to five photos throughout the submission period, which runs from February 1 until March 1. Judging will take place between March 2 and March 23, and Post’s own Randi Altman is one of the esteemed judges.

In addition to the iPad2, prizes include an HP DreamColor monitor, Nvidia and AMD graphics card, Imagineer System’s Mocha Pro planar tracking solution, a Tangent Devices Element TK trackball panel, and the Beauty Box Video plug-in from Digital Anarchy.
