NAB 2014: LumaForge showing 4K workstation

LAS VEGAS – At NAB, LumaForge (www.lumaforge.com), which sells and rents fully-loaded systems for HD, 2K and 4K workflows, is teaming up with AMD, Blackmagic Design and Fusion-IO to demonstrate a new, high-performance 4K workflow solution. The Ultra RawPower finishing workstation incorporates AMD’s new FirePro W9100 graphics card and is capable of delivering multiple streams of 4K.

In addition to the FirePro W9100, the Ultra RawPower workstation is paired with Blackmagic Design’s 4K I/O breakout boxes, the Da Vinci Resolve color correction application, and low latency ioFX solutions from Fusion-IO. LumaForge says the system can easily handle the 2,400MB/s data throughput required for processing 4K, 10-bit DPX files at 23.98fps. Each ioFX delivers 1.4Gb/s throughput and linear scaling is possible with additional products.

The demonstration is taking place in the AMD booth (SL10405).
