HD EXPERT TONY BROWN JOINS 2G DIGITAL POST

LOS ANGELES - 2G Digital Post (www.2gdigital.com), a post house specializing in HD/SD editing, graphics and 5.1 audio, has hired Tony Brown to lead sales and operations.

Brown comes to 2G following a six-year tenure at Performance Post, where he helped pioneer 720p HD online processes for program reformatting. He was also instrumental in aiding ABC launch its initial HD programming, easing the network's transition to posting in HD formats. Prior to that, Brown spent five years handling sales and operations at LA-based post companies Lightning Dubbs and Pacific Media.

"Tony's a great fit for 2G," says 2G owner Chuck Filliettaz. "He's really good at introducing new concepts in post. We're moving away from hourly rates toward simpler flat bids that are comparable to SD online rates, and several studios are already on board. We're all excited for Tony to start sharing our new approaches and their efficiencies with even more clients."

Brown notes, "2G's model of the nonlinear post process and its innate efficiencies is, in my opinion, the future of this business. When you can offer clients the chance to deliver more product in less time without losing any quality, and grow your company at the same time, you've found the perfect balance. More companies are starting to feel the cost pressure and complexity of HD. I'm really looking forward to bringing them 2G's value proposition, because it's going to change their expectations about online."
