Outpost VFX opens in Germany; brings in VFX supervisor Sven Martin

LONDON, UK – Outpost VFX (www.outpost-vfx.com) has launched an operation in Germany and is already working on projects in the region. The studio, which was founded in 2013, has credits that include The Uprising, Mayday, The Dog Stars, Silo, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

VFX supervisor Sven Martin will join the studio in November as executive creative director. This role is designed to keep him at the heart of client service and creative direction across Outpost VFX’s global slate of projects. Martin’s credits include work on House of the Dragon, 3 Body Problem, Bridge of Spies, The Mandalorian and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. A multiple VES Award winner, Martin also received Primetime Emmy awards in both 2012 and 2013 for his work on Game of Thrones.

The Dog Stars

Germany is Outpost VFX’s fourth international territory, alongside established operations in the UK, Canada and India. The operation is built around a senior team of artists, technologists and production specialists, providing significant expertise in animation, creature work and creative direction. This includes many of the key animators and character artists that delivered recognizable effects across all three seasons of House of the Dragon.

“Germany represents an important milestone in Outpost’s continued growth and gives us access to an exceptional pool of creative and technical talent,” shares chief operating officer Gez Hixson. “We’ve been deliberate about finding the right opportunity to expand into Europe, and we’re incredibly excited about the team we’ve assembled. Bringing Sven into the business is a major part of that. His creative pedigree, leadership and trusting relationships with a wide network of clients make him an outstanding fit for Outpost as we continue to evolve internationally.”
