LOS ANGELES – TW3 Entertainment (https://www.tw3entertainment.com) used generative AI to help create the studio’s new movie, Merry the Christmas Witch, a feature-length family fantasy. The TW3 team used a hybrid production model that combined generative AI with traditional filmmaking to create the feature, which centers around Merry, the first witch born on Christmas Day.

Merry the Christmas Witch was co-written and directed by TW3 founder/CEO Tom Walsh, who estimates that as a traditional live-action production, the film would have required an $80 million budget. By partnering with generative AI company Phatty Acid, the studio was able to execute their effects-heavy vision while still employing directors, producers, actors, editors and composers during the process.
