London’s JFX adds to senior leadership team

LONDON – JFX (jfx.world), the boutique visual effects studio that launched in April of 2025, has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointment of Matt Burn as creative technology supervisor and Carl Godwin-Alvarez as VFX supervisor.

Burn brings over 20 years of post production, CG and VFX experience to the team. More recently, he has focused on hands-on work with emerging generative tools across live projects. In this newly-created role, he will draw on his understanding of the ever-growing range of available tools to improve the creative process, implementing workflows that simplify and streamline the pipeline.

Burn spent 17 years as a CG artist and supervisor at Absolute Post before joining Realtime as a CG supervisor. He oversaw VFX on The Winter King and Lockerbie: A Search for Truth. In 2025, he rejoined Absolute as creative technologist, and also led AI-led video work, which saw him personally commissioned by Peter Gabriel to create the Olive Tree music video.

Godwin-Alvarez joins JFX following a 13-year tenure at Absolute Post. He brings a pragmatic approach to translating a client’s creative brief into actionable steps a team can execute, building workflows that let artists concentrate on creating rather than technical problem-solving. Some of Godwin-Alvarez’s credits include MobLand, The Buccaneers and The Rig.
