Machine welcomes senior sound designer James Cobbold.

LONDON — Sound design and music company Machine (machinesound.co) has hired senior sound designer James Cobbold. He arrives at Machine’s newly-expanded Fitzrovia studios with a career that includes time at audio facilities 750mph and Jungle.

While Cobbold’s showreel spans genres, he is a self-proclaimed ‘petrol-head’ and has had much success on automotive projects. His work on Sky Sports F1: Watch it Live. Feel it All and Shell’s Cold won Gold Music & Sound Awards, the latter also earning a Silver Kinsale Shark Award and Bronze Clio. In addition, Raise Your Limits, for McLaren, was celebrated for Best Sound Design at Shots. Other career highlights include work for Durex, RAF, Old El Paso, Nike, Mont Blanc and Microsoft.

“I'm very much looking forward to joining the team at Machine,” says Cobbold. “I’m excited to get stuck into some amazing work here, hopefully adding to their impressive awards haul.”

Machine is coming off a successful year of award-wins and growth into feature film and TV drama projects. The studio recently refurbished and expanded its Fitzrovia base.
