SOCIAL NETWORKING AND OUR INDUSTRY
Published: March 24, 2009

Facebook isn’t just for catching up with friends you haven’t seen since elementary school, it’s also a good place to start networking with people from the industry — those you’ve met and those you hope to meet. Then there is Twitter, Linked In, Plaxo, MySpace, etc.

THE CHANGING FACE OF TRADE SHOWS
Published: February 25, 2009

With NAB only one month away, things are getting interesting. While Avid is back at the South Hall with a booth after sitting out 2008, other companies have decided against exhibiting in 2009 — Quantel, Filmlight and Red among them. While attendance is expected to be down, so are the room rates, giving some a compelling reason to make the trip, even in this economy.
A GREEN EVOLUTION
Published: January 27, 2009

Our industry has typically been a little more crunchy granola than most, so to hear that many production, post and film studios have easily taken to greening doesn’t surprise me. And they do it not because it’s granola, but because it’s the right thing to do… and, in these difficult economic times, they might just save some money along the way.
EMBRACING THE GREEN
Published: January 27, 2009

You may have noticed that recently Post has been talking to companies about how they are trying to reduce their carbon footprint, and this issue is no exception. WHAT'S IN STORE FOR '09
Published: December 1, 2008

It's that time of the year again — SWOT time! Once again we ask pros about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of our industry. We also ask them to tell us what they think is in store for the upcoming year. We put together a great panel this go-around, and added a new topic — the Red camera.

WORKING AS A TEAM
Published: October 28, 2008

Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath co-directed, as well as co-wrote, along with Etan Cohen, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. The two have been a team for almost nine years. So how did they divvy up the work on this sequel to the popular Madagascar, a PDI/DreamWorks film that stars the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and Jada Pinkett Smith, among others?
IBC IN 500 WORDS OR LESS
Published: September 30, 2008

IBC ‘08 in Amsterdam was very busy but in a relaxed way; it’s like NAB on Xanax, and I like it! Could have done without the fish sandwiches being offered at the RAI convention center — head and all — but other than that, a country that serves cheese for breakfast and lunch is my kinda place.
