MERGING TECHNOLOGIES INTROS RAMSES CONSOLE

LAS VEGAS – Merging Technologies, the maker of the Pyramix
digital audio workstation, debuted Ramses MSC at NAB, a new console control
surface that will begin shipping in May. Ramses will be available in 8-, 16-
and 24-fader configurations and can control up to four 256-channel Pyramix DAWs
making it suitable for film mixing applications. Pricing ranges from $33,984 to
$58,149 for the Ramses MSC depending on fader count. |

ARRI UPDATES D-20, ENHANCES ARRISCAN FOR DI

LAS VEGAS - Arri made a number of announcements at NAB on Monday. The company's D-20 film style digital camera is available for rent worldwide - though not yet for sale - and has been used in the production of numerous commercials and films, including Hogfather, Afrika Mon Amour and The Company. The unit now features a fiber interface that allows users to connect the camera to an SRW deck from as far away as 1,600 feet. It can also now handle speed ramps. |

INTELLIGENT GADGETS ENHANCES SKYPE-BASED COLLABORATION APP

LAS VEGAS - Intelligent Gadgets, the developer of the Skype-based SyncVue collaborative digital media review and approval application, has upgraded the tool to include several new enhancements. SyncVuePro now allows users to view online QuickTime media. In the past, media had to be distributed to users prior to collaborative sessions. |

APPLE SHOWS FINAL CUT STUDIO 2, INTROS COLOR

made a number of announcements just prior to the kick off of the NAB show,
including the introduction of a powerful color grading program that will be
part of its upgraded Final Cut Studio package. The company reports that it now has 800,000 paid Final Cut
Pro users worldwide and support for the application is strong with 100
worldwide training centers, numerous books, and a range of third party plug-ins. |

house specializing in long-form episodic drama for television, as well as
independent features, recently upgraded its main mixing stage with the addition
of a Euphonix System 5-MC. The two-position console replaces a ProControl and
features an integrated DAW control surface with 24 faders on each side. |

INDIE FILM 'BUMPING OFF BURT' SHOT, POSTED IN HD

company Q-Station (www.q-station.com) recently shot the comedy Bumping Off
Burt (www.bumpingoffburt.com) with a JVC
ProHD HD100 camera. Steiner was faced with a limited budget and challenging
locations, but still wanted to shoot in 24p. |
